Child health
development
The practice works with the health
visitors to provide child health
development checks. All children
under school age have regular
reviews. You will get a letter
inviting you to attend for the child
development checks.
The baby clinic, for mums and their
new babies, are held every Wednesday
2pm - 4pm at Renishaw and Monday
12.30pm – 4pm at Eckington Health
Centre where you will have a chance
to meet the Health Visitors and have
a chat about any concerns you may
have and a chance for the Health
Visitor to keep a check on your baby
e.g. weight, feeding etc.
Childhood immunisations
Babies have their immunisations at
two, three and four months to
protect from whooping cough,
tetanus, diphtheria, polio, HIB
meningitis. We also offer booster
immunisations to pre-school children
and 15 year olds.
Babies have their first immunisation
at two months with the doctor when
at the same time the doctor will
carry out mum's post-natal check. An
appointment then needs to be made at
the reception for baby's second
immunisations with the practice
nurse.
